Combining high quality metals with state-of-the-art heat treating and grinding techniques, Bottom Knives also known as Female Knives are secured to the shaft in a number of ways for quick, easy width adjustments. In the case of the set screw locking knives, a brass set screw is added to the knife’s outside diameter to allow the operators to tighten it into place once the desired width has been achieved. The brass set screw is selected so no damage is done to the shaft when locking the bottom knives in place. This design provides a secure locking action of the bottom knife. We offer different materials as well as carbide ring models to provide optimum knife life. Motorized units are also available.
