Combining high quality metals with state-of-the-art heat treating and grinding techniques, Bottom Knives also known as Female Knives are secured to the shaft in a number of ways for quick, easy width adjustments. In the case of plain bore knives, they are normally stacked on an arbor or shaft spaced by precision spacers and compressed by locking nuts to achieve a close tolerance slit width. They can also be supported by a pneumatically inflated shaft to avoid using spacers and ease the set up process. These knives are manufactured to a very close thickness tolerance to achieve precision slit widths when spaced by precision spacers. We offer different materials as well as carbide ring models to provide optimum knife life. Motorized units are also available.
